Yes I know, it is October 31 and most of you are out trick-or-treating, thinking spooky thoughts and eating lots of candy. Alas I am stuck at home while the kids trick-or-treat with Daddy at the mall, I have moved on. To Thanksgiving! This year I have a whole lot to be thankful for. Don't get me wrong, it has been hard-really hard. And the journey isn't over yet. There are still things to overcome, friends and family who need help and support, healing to happen. But I am still so thankful. For doctors. For medicine. For friends and family who took care of my family. The list goes on and on and on.
Every year on Facebook during the month of November, I post one thing a day I am thankful for. It can be something little or big. Silly or more meaningful. And this year I am taking it a step further. I am also going to get the kids involved-and you can get yours involved too. I even made up a little printable for you. :) (Just right click and save to your computer)
I printed these leaves out on fallish cardstock, and every day I am going to have the kids write down one thing they are thankful for, then we will hang them up on the wall.
At the end we will have 60 things to be thankful for (Jackson will get to do it next year WHEN he is talking) a lovely colorful decoration, and eventually I will put them all in a book so we can look back on all the things we love and are thankful for. It will be a very thankful Thanksgiving for sure!
