a day in the life

Ten on Tuesday

1. I broke a streak that lasted 21 years tonight. I got pulled over. Not for speeding, but for not having a sticker. Apparently around these parts you have to have an inspection every year (similar to E-Check I am thinking) to be legal. Good to know. Now. Wondering how in the world we were able to get a new license plate without that information. That would have been really handy. I am just mad now-at the time I was, let's say, another emotion.
2. Remember how I said my March Madness Bracket didn't count? Yeah, we are going to stick with that statement. Thanks a lot Kansas.
3. Charlie is going to be two in three days. My friend JJ said it best-I thought he would just be a bigger baby, but really, he is just a little kid.
4. My school district is apparently considering cutting all music, art, and physical education. When will they understand these things are what makes our students excel? WHEN.
5. Wow. I'm a little cranky tonight.
6. I ordered something from DownEast Basics tonight and I found a free shipping coupon. Hey remember #1? Yeah.
7. I found my light.
I seriously love this kid so much.
8. And there was a day not too long ago I could carry him around with me everywhere.
Oh little baby boy and the little baby boy drool on the bjorn.
9. He has started speaking in sentences every so often. Mostly "I did it; I like it; I want it; Hep please Mama." Oh so cute. But you know what isn't cute? Taking off his pants...and diaper almost every day in his crib. Looks like I am going to be getting out the packing tape like I did with Lily.
10. I know, I know, Charlie centric, but I promise to share lots of Lily fun next week. But for now, the Charlie turns two countdown continues. *sigh*

Ball Dropper

Well I am bummed. Procrastination has bit me in the behind because my plan of doing my March Madness Picks-something that I know nothing about yet am so very excited to do during nap time today was a bad idea. Why? Because I am too late. So now I will miss all of the incredible fun. Miss out on conversations so funny that mini books have been made based on them. So here it is. My picks. But they don't count. Even if I happen to beat Matt this year, it doesn't count. Because I dropped the ball. Boo.
I guess I will just have to go back though my blog and read through the fun of previous years-because you know March Madness has it's own category here. I guess there's always next year.

Saturday Seven

1. I went to Gettysburg today (to the outlets) and drove past some very cool looking battle fields. And I forgot my camera.
2. Lily cut her own hair the other day. I still sigh and shake my head when I think about it. And I still haven't decided what to do about it. Except keep her scissors away until she is, I don't know, SEVEN? *sigh*
3. Our neighbor across the street lets off fireworks almost every single night. Normally it is before bedtime, but tonight it is almost nine. Every. Single. Night.
4. I made an apron for Lily tonight. I will have her model it for you tomorrow.
5. I still love my new hair cut. Although I am having some phantom hair pains. Anyone else know what I am talking about?
6. As I have still not heard a word from Matt about how much I kicked his behind, I will share another little factoid-just to see if I can get him to come out of the corner he is huddling in...bwahahahahaha. I picked 47 out of 61 correct. Matt picked 38 out of 61.

In the effort of irritating some people in my family to start talking some smack because our family bracket is rather boring where last year a MINI BOOK was made of the smack talk...

I will publicly announce that I am beating *Matt. AGAIN. Don't know what it is. I have the touch. Bj had a great idea that if I beat Matt FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR I should be able to choose his name for next year. Bj has already suggested "I'm a little teapot."

And since I am talking about it, I might as well say I am beating **EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY.
