Yes, I know it's Sunday. Let's call it Flashback weekend edition. Taken on Sunday, October 18-Mor Mor's first visit after we moved. She is visiting again (an early celebration for Charlie's birthday) so I hope to get a new picture-this time with teeth :)
This month Charlie is turning...two. I can hardly believe it. So for Flashback Friday this month I will be celebrating the boy (totally forgot I used to call him that!) First is a video I shot the day I got back from the hospital. First let me say that I COULD NOT SEE what was happening as I was laying on the couch and just put the camera above my head. Repeat. I COULD NOT SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. Now for the other adults in the room, I can't speak for them. Oh and Lily's hair looks like that because she just got up from her nap. Ok disclaimers over. Enjoy.
Where credit is due. They totally won because of me...right? So funny story from today too. I had to go out in the cold to the grocery store today and I was getting Charlie out of the car (thus kind of hidden) as a very large black man came around the car on the way to his and TOTALLY made a Willis startle noise. He stealthily covered it up as a "hi!" but still I recognized it. So he pulled out and what did I see but a Browns license plate on the front of his car. He was looking at me (because you know, he TOTALLY just made the Willis startle noise and he was checking to see if I noticed) and I smiled, pointed at it and gave him the thumbs up. He rolled down his window and said "What you a Browns fan?" I said yes, we are from the Cleveland area. Apparently he is from Pittsburgh and (with a giddy little teedle hee to his voice) told me that he called everyone he knew last night. Well, teedle hee to you too sir.
We're here in Ohio (short trip this time...) and despite a crazy running around morning, I had a wonderful crazy running around evening-playing with Lily and Charlie in the backyard. Oh how I miss a backyard. Since I am not at my own computer, how about a picture from theirs? And how perfect-it is Flashback Friday! Lily playing in the backyard in August 2007. Oh my. photo by Elizabeth Dillow...I think.
The last time my current camera was used was for taking pictures at Prom 2005, the year I taught at good old Stow High School. These pictures have sadly lived on this camera since May of 2005. Almost exactly four years to the day. But the good thing about having a 16 MB memory card is you only have room for about 24 pictures so now these pictures officially have a place-living in my computer. I guess it is only fitting as this year most of them will be *gulp* graduating from college any day now. They all made my first year of teaching so special and so very memorable. I wish them all luck-and jobs :)
Remember way back to the beginning of the month when I was secretly blogging every single day for the month of April? Do you remember me at all at this point? You know when you start getting "impatient" comments on other posts it is really, really time to blog. So here we go...Ohio in review.
Here are some of the things we did while in Ohio 1. Played games like Phase 10, Nerts, and Settlers of Catan (just Bj this time) with M & D 2. Saw Gracie 3. Took pictures of Maddie taking pictures of me 4. Finally got to see Jen...very pregnant :) 5. And Dylan who was very excited to birdy watch with me 6. Took some more iphone pictures (see 365) 7. Went to HIBACHI! 8. Got Cassie to scrapbook! 9. Tried to sleep past 8:00am, only made it to 8:05am but got to go to breakfast with M & D 10. Went scrapping with my girls! (see 365) 11. Colored eggs (missed that one unfortunately, but I'm SURE someone is going to send me some pictures??) 12. Went to Starbucks then Nancy's house and laughed (and laughed and laughed.) 13. Stayed up way too late again. 14. Went to church for Easter Sunday and saw so many old friends. 15. Got a bike!! *disclaimers-I completely forgot Lily's helmet, but she from this day forth will always wear one when riding. Also, as we have a boy who will someday need a smaller bike, yes, Lily's new bike is very boyish. BUT I pulled off all the "intimidator" and fire stickers and am now dubbing it the lady bug bike until further notice. 16. Hung out with Mor Mor and Uncle Justin! *disclaimer...must do better about taking pictures with Grandparents and Uncles and Aunts-this is the only picture I have! 17. Had an Easter Egg hunt! 18. Were very happy with the results 19. Bj also saw I think THREE movies, had tons of boy time (thank goodness as I am getting a bit weary being his "guy" friend.) Played games, went to dinner, hung out and played guitar. 20. We had a wonderful time. And whew. Was it busy.
So how was the concert you ask? Quite possibly the most fun I have ever had. No really. I fully admit it. It was SO. MUCH. FUN. And no offense to my Mama, but going to a New Kids concert without your Mama kind of the way to go to a New Kids concert.
So we had great seats. UNBELIEVABLE seats. We were in the center, but pretty far back. BUT there was a platform with a grand piano on it right next to us. And when the production manager gave us the nod, you know we were running over, well, like 12-year-old girls. Thanks Charissa for the pictures-there were a lot, but I will just share a few. Joey Joe We were so close you could see his blue eyes. Lily has been, well, kind of listening to NKOTB in the car this entire week, and is very interested in the girl singing. I have spent my week trying to explain falsetto to my three year old...
And this one? Well I SHOOK HIS HAND. No really. And brushed fingertips with Donnie. Probably because I was doing this.
That to the right of the picture? My hand.
So there you go. And to the certain person who may feel the overwhelming need to make tremendous fun of my night reliving my adolescence, need I remind you I know some stories about you and a certain song. And a certain concert you went to. And now back to reality...
Alright, alright, I admit it ok? I was a New Kids on the Block fan. Yup. Boy band fever threw up all over my walls (and closet) with pictures of Joe, Donnie, Danny, Jon and Jordan. And for the record, that is the order that I liked them in. And no, Danny did NOT look like a monkey and Joey Joe was the cutest thing ever (or so I thought.) And Jordan always drove me a little crazy. Bop magazines were strewn all over, not to mention folders, t-shirts, pins, TAPES (but no CDs-my infatuation ended a little sooner than other's I know) and I am sad to say hand drawn pictures of cutie patootie Joe and attempts of their autographs. Yes, I practiced writing Northsideposse all scrunched together just like...oh I can't remeber who, but yes, I really did that.
I never went as far as the sheets, or the POOFIEST JACKET IN THE WORLD, but you could say that I was a fan. So perhaps I am a little excited about the concert tonight. Yes I understand that these guys are teetering on 40 and are still attempting to sing about picking up girls in the mall during the summer instead of singing about what they are really doing, picking up diapers at Walmart. Sadly I don't have a picture to share of myself from this time period as all my pictures are packed away, but oh wait, maybe I do??
Me back in 1989. I was quite fashion forward with my haricut don't you think? Oh and here is Cassie! And oh my is she wearing the POOFIEST JACKET IN THE WORLD?
I'm really not fooling anyone that these were taken in 1989 am I...
This may be about the most embarrassing Flashback Friday to date.
I kind of can't believe I am actually posting this picture, but my friend Suzanne was showing off her super cute and functional Laundry Basket and it immediately made me think of this.
My wild and crazy college days...um yeah.
Can't put it off any longer.
Here it is...
Oh my. You can say it. What was she thinking. Well the story is I was doing laundry and on my way up, this old, old laundry basket fell apart. So instead of just throwing it away, I had to play for a while. Why not wear it! The best part of this picture though is the other memories that come flooding back...like wearing Elizabeth's blue (was it Colors of Benetton?) sweater. OOoo am I admitting to something here? Sorry E I think it was me who had your sweater. And all my pictures lined up on my (messy) desk-especially of Lakeside and of me and Bj. And that light that always burned my fingers. And the Dr Pepper baby bottle-which is in Charlie's room at this moment. And my Umbro bag. Oh I loved that Umbro bag. And my Norton Scores. And my hanging baseball cap collection. And can we just mention the hair for a moment? How about them eyebrows.
