Day one, I was thankful for my family as a unit. Today I will just focus on Lily.
I cannot believe how much Lillian (as she really wishes to be called now) has grown up in the past year, even in the past few months. I don't know who this gargantuan child is, with the long legs and the huge feet, but there she sits, feet almost touching the floor. She is sensitive yet easy going, has a mad infatuation with Super Heroes, yet still loves playing Barbies. Her sense of humor is amazing and while sometimes she totally knows it, sometimes it is so subtle she has no idea just how hilarious she is. I absolutely adore the fact that she is taking piano lessons now, excelling in her piano lessons so I can now play duets with her. I know a time will come when she doesn't want to play duet after duet with her Mama, but until then, I adore that we can share this. It is just so cool watching her grow up. This morning at the bus stop she promised me she would still like me when she is 13. We shook on it. Then we kept shaking. Jumping up and down, laughing, fooling around. I hope she will remember this moment when she is 13...fingers crossed.
