Get up and dance

Ten on Tuesday

1. I had an awesome time in Pittsburgh this weekend with an old friend. How wonderful it is to be able to hang out like not a day had passed. We are still silly teenage girls at heart
(with super cool grown-up apartments.)
2. I got a letter yesterday apologizing profusely for an accidental overcharge on a purchase I made on some tickets back in 2006. With 10% interest I am now $1.90 richer. Yes, I jest about this, but isn't it nice that there are still companies out there who do the right thing? Really nice.
3. Charlie learned how to fully utilize the word "Daddee!" while I was gone. I am happy to report that Bj finally understands why sometimes Mama's head is about to explode some days. I think "Daddee!" was said nearly 2000 times from the time I got home to bedtime on Sunday night. (hee hee hee)
4. Today he is officially back to "Mama? Mama? Mama? Mama? Mama?" so all is right in my world.
5. The other day I finally gave in and ordered the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas piano book. It is really fun to play piano again. And yes, it is totally fine to practice Christmas music early especially when you need the practice as much as I do.
6. Lily got in trouble tonight for calling Charlie weird. Her punishment was to give him a hug and tell him she was sorry. In her defense, at the time of the crime he was wearing this. And yes, I do help him put things on, but he literally will NOT LEAVE MY SIDE and will not stop saying MAMA! MONEY! MONEY! until I do. And, of course I am taking as many pictures of him dressed up as I can. I believe it will help with keeping him in line during the teenage years ;)
7. We have mice again. I saw one scurry away when I opened my silverware drawer. AGAIN. I. HATE. MICE.
8. Shelly's birthday was yesterday, so once again, Happy Birthday Shelly!!
9. Lily has constant "friends" who play with her during quiet time and bedtime. Of course you remember Jafar, but lately it has been Susan from Monsters and Aliens (apparently Susan is her sister,) anywhere from three to five princes (she is of course their princess) and this week she told me that her new friend was the Madagascar Lion. And when she talks to him she says "Ok come on Madagascar Lion!" That girl has one heck of an imagination.
10. We saw Lily's old dance teacher today. She not only recognized me immediately, but she also remembered Lily's name. Oh if it was only a bit closer...perhaps we will go back next year.
11. (the bonus) I HAVE MICE AGAIN AND I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND!

A while back I entered one of the I heart faces contests and won the opportunity to be in their I heart faces book. Well, it is officially out and you can see my picture on one of the pictures of the book-Emily's beautiful eye. That little gril who used to say "I want to be a photo-grapher...I mean a phoTOGrapher." is really, really giddy right now.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I am doing "Thankful" posts on Facebook everyday. Something tells me this is going to turn into a scrapbook page, perhaps even an album...someday.
2. I really have been trying to scrap more lately because I miss it, I need to do it, I want to do it.
3. I am finally reaching the end of the crazy October photo month. Finishing my last October client and on to November!
4. Charlie's new favorite word is "MONEY!!!" He says it all. the. time. And very emphatically too. Would you like some more? MONEY! Comes up with a toy box he can't open...MONEY! Charlie get off the table! MONEY! Sometimes it does sound a bit like Mommy, but he continues to call me Mama and I have heard it when I am not around. I seriously don't know what the exact definition is.
5. I crafted something Christmasy tonight. Haven't decided yet if I will make more for presents yet so you will have to wonder what it is.
6. My city only collects what limited recycling they take, once a month. And we forgot last month. Consequently we currently have seven bags and three bins FULL of recycling out for a very early morning pick up. I really hope the wind doesn't pick up tonight.
7. There is a whole lot of dress-up played around here and a whole lot of running around. Thus, tired girl, all dressed up, taking a break.
8. Tired girl taking a break learns that she may be attacked by a pirate if she rests too long.
9. Did you know that The Trifecta started a Tumblr blog? We did and you should definitely check it out.
10. You know what you should also check out? Elizabeth's new class at Big Picture. It is all about inspiration and finding it and harnessing it and using it in amazing ways. I seriously can't wait. What a great way to start the new year. Hello, she even has an interview with Amy Krouse Rosenthal, one of the most creative and inspirational people out there.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I am still buried in my October photo shoots but I hope to get a bit caught up this week.
2. I have FINALLY updated 365. Well, to October 31 that is.
3. I can't believe it is November already. As of today I have only 59 photos left to take to complete 365.
4. Today has quickly become my favorite day. No running around, kids are still in jammies, just playing, working, and catching up.
5. I miss my sisters.
6. Thanks to a bloggy friend, I just bought something at Walmart. GASP. It's no longer on the site so I think I may have purchased the last one.
7. I had planned on doing one final Halloween shoot today but a non-saving-of-important-work-Mama and a not-wanting-to-take-a-nap-Charlie prevented that. Perhaps tomorrow?
8. I have started my Christmas shopping-have you?
9. We Skyped today with Missy and Maya. It was perfectly lovely but boy do we miss them.
10. And...back to work. Oh and if it seems like this is a post with no pictures, go check out 365!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Lily has been let's say "fun" lately.
2. I love that she still at four says a few things "wrong." For example: "I smell like coffee." "Are we having Macrmonie and Cheese?" "I miss Aunt Elizabef and Aunt Kafren."
3. Despite the "fun" at home, Lily's teacher has told both Bj and I on separate occasions that Lily is always so happy at school. I guess she is using it all up there.
4. She LOVES her dance class and I am starting to see real things happening when she practices. She almost can get all the way down when she is attempting splits. It amazes her Mama who hasn't been able to touch her toes since about 1989.
5. She listens to music from VBS (both from around here and back in Ohio) every. single. day.
6. She is really, really good at cleaning up and putting things back where they belong. If Daddy tries to put something back where it doesn't belong she will say "Hey! That doesn't live there!"
7. After a bad spell of losing the "who can clip the car seat belt faster, Mama or Lily" game she now very magnanimously says every time she doesn't win "Good job Mama! Maybe I'll win next time."
8.  I can't believe how grown up she is looking lately. So very tall-until we get in a group of adults. Still my baby and so very little.

Her first homework assignment from a few weeks ago-don't you just love daddy? Hee hee.
10. Goodness gracious I love that girl so much.
